In 1979, 17 August A.P.J Abdul Kalam was ready to launch satellite with four systems and thousands of objects.
Build at Vikram Sarabhai Space Center where Satish Dhawan was chairman.
In 1973, he commissioned A.P.J Abdul Kalam to send a satellite into orbit.
Abdul Kalam was the project director who was ready with all the working engineers.
During launch, the entire startup program is given to computers to test.
After looking at the first stage, the computer signals all good.
In the second phase the computer signals scan some problem.
Print comes out indicating a specific minor problem in the rocket system.
After that, he got to know the 6-7 experts who sat behind him, found the problem and suggested him to launch.
He instructed to turn off the computer and put satellite in manual mode and then decide to launch it.
When the rocket was launched, it did a good job in the first phase, but in the second phase within a minute it circled and landed in the Bay of Bengal.
It was a Failure.
Satish Dhawan approached him and told him to join a press conference.
On that day, all the national media were present and Satish Dhawan and Abdul Kalam will be conducting, he is the only one who should join.
National media started asking, one of the reporters asking how to place 20 crores in the Bay of Bengal.
Satish Dhawan responded by saying yes it is the first time it has failed and after one year we will succeed.
Exactly one year later, on 18 July 1980 all the rockets ready to launch and the entire rocket system transferred to a computer for monitoring.
Everything was ready for the rocket launch and a minute later he announced that the satellite was on the way and congratulated them all.
More than an hour Satish Dhawan came and told A.P.J Abdul Kalam to hold a press conference.
